Thank you for your interest in Maine Modern Quilters. Our membership is open to anyone who enjoys modern quilting or just quilting. All skill levels are welcome. We have no rules about what is and is not modern quilting. If you enjoy quilting, we would be happy for you to join us.

Why Join?

Gain membership in a statewide quilting guild full of innovative and creative members
who enjoy modern quilting.

  • Attend 10 guild meetings per year to attend via zoom (half) or in person (half) where you meet other members, gain some knowledge and skills, and can share your quilts and see those of others through show and tell. Our meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month September through June.
  • Access recordings for any zoom meeting that you miss and an archive of past virtual meetings.
  • Access workshops hosted by MMQ.
  • Join a private Facebook group of the Maine Modern Quilters to share ideas,
    questions, and projects.
  • Access exclusive content of all prior recorded guild meetings with tutorials vias
    our YouTube channel.
  • Receive roster of all members of the Maine Modern Quilters Guild in Maine and
    beyond.
  • Connect with others in the quilting community and joining activities like charity
    quilts, challenges, swaps, and other chapter activities.
  • Attend an annual members’ yard sale where you can pick up fabric and notions
    donated by other members to raise funds the MMQ guild.
  •  Attend an annual holiday party full of fun and games.
  • Volunteer to serve on the Board and fill a variety of leadership positions.

Your membership includes membership to the national Modern Quilt Guild with access to online resources and training, as well as reduced cost of registration for QuiltCon, and a monthly newsletter. Through the Modern Quilt Guild you have access to the following:

  • Connect with others in the quilting community through local MQG-affiliated guilds or the Individual Members Coalition (IMC), and through activities like our community sew along.
  • Members get QuiltCon discounts and early registration, plus only members can submit their quilts to the largest modern quilt show in the world.
  • Members get access to the Modern Quilt Guild resource library full of over 200 modern quilt patterns and all MQG prior content since the MQG started. This includes tutorials, webinars, make and takes, community news, and more. MQG regularly publishes new resources to help educate and support members.
  • Join MQG yearly challenges like the Make A Difference challenge, or participate in the Community Outreach Quilt Challenge at QuiltCon. Every year there’s a new theme.

Gain membership in the statewide Pine Tree Quilters Guild with access to monthly guild meetings and receive the monthly Patchwork Press newsletter.

  • Submit quilts for the annual Maine Quilts show for judging at reduced cost.
  • Meet quilters of all skill levels and interests; access to a range of workshops to help develop your quilting skills.
  • Receive information about quilting in Maine and New England.
  • Access programs and trips of interest to quilters.

Membership Dues
The membership fee to join is $40. If you are currently an existing member of another chapter of PTQG, then your membership fee is $20.

* Modern Quilt Guild (MQG) – This is an international quilting guild. Membership to MQG has many benefits including access to an online community, quilt patterns, block studies, webinars and the ability to enter MQG quilt shows. ** Pine Tree Quilters Guild (PTQG) – This is Maine’s state quilting guild. Membership benefits of PTQG include access to workshops, chapter activities, Patchwork Press newsletter, educational programs and community activities.
